The Bathroom

The bathroom is not completely done but Curtis was the first one to have a shower in it last night. There is a rush to use the new bathroom. The kids will go downstairs just to use it. These shelves is where I will put towels and sheets. We are going with chocolate colored towels.
I am still on a hunt for a mirror. Until then, this will have to work. I love the cabinet. Russell has already put his toothbrush and such in there.

I am still trying to find a chocolate bath mat. The white just doesn't do it. So now I can have my shower back all to myself. For some reason Russell and Chloe are always wanting in my shower. Curtis' shower I guess is not that interesting. But with the new one, things will be different. Chloe is very excited to move downstairs. Curt's mom and I will be painting her room I think on Friday.

Fun in the Sun

The last few days have been hot here. The kids are so excited to get the slip 'n slide out. Yesterday while I was putting away groceries they were occupied.
Today we had Sabbath lunch at our house. After Russell and Chloe were done eating, out they went. Even some of the adults gave it a try.

We have a watering system figured out. The evergreens are just loving it. It has grown so much. Some of the trees are to my chest. It won't be long till they are big.
On Wednesday night, there was a beautiful sunset. I stayed outside until it was dark enjoying the beauty of God's nature.

Photo Shoot of the Kids

After lunch yesterday, I took the kids to the train track just across the highway to take some pictures. They were a little scared that a train would come and they would not get out of the way fast enough. I reassured them that we would be able to hear the train before we could see it and there would be plenty of time. The sky was overcast which made for better pictures. I did have to promise a trip to the library if they were good during this process. We went to the library in Grande Prairie which has a huge kids section. We brought home some great books.
Chloe loves to show her affection towards her brother.

One day holding hands will not happen. So I need all the pictures I can get now!

Russell loves to kick rocks.

I love his smile with missing teeth.

She loves to move fast. I like how her pig tails are up.

I was taking pictures of Russell when Chloe found the dandelion. I told her to stop so I could get situated for some pictures. She thought she was in trouble! Then she could blow as much as she wanted.

I'm glad the kids like getting their pictures taken. It makes my job a little easier.

Chloe's Fun

On Wednesday, Chloe went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the rest of the week. Russell and I were sick and did not do a whole lot on Wednesday and Thursday. While she was there, Kim and the girls came over for some fun. They had set up the tent but Briana did not think too much of it, give her another year.

On Friday, Grandma, Grandpa took Chloe over to the neighbors to see their baby horse. She got to pet them and feed the mommy.

It was really nice to have a break from having two kids here especially when I was sick. Grandparents are a special part of children's lives and Russell and Chloe are blessed to know both sets of grandparents. Russell will be done school this coming week and he is ready to go stay there for at least a week. Not sure what Chloe and I will do, she really misses her brother when he is gone.

Russell's Birthday Part 3

This is the last and final post of Russell's birthday, party is OVER!! On Thursday, Grandpa, Grandma, and Chloe stopped over with a special box for Russell to put his Meccano pieces in. He got a remote controlled car for Christmas that you build and then can take it apart and rebuild. He is now into the rebuilding stage again.
Uncle Jeff, Auntie Marta, Sarah, Russell and I all went out for lunch on Friday, the day of his actual birthday. I have started a tradition with the kids that when it is their birthday, they get to pick where to go for lunch, have an eye exam and come to town with just me. Chloe stayed at Grandma's from Wednesday till Sabbath. Russell picked Mr. Mike's for lunch and had a few extra guests.
Russell had saved up his birthday money. He thought he wanted a gas powered remote controlled truck for outside. I told him smart shoppers look around and then decide what to buy. After looking a bit, he decided a bike with gears and hand brakes was something he would rather have. Last year he bought a bike with his money a s well. For Russell, it is all about the gears and brakes!! This bike is a little on the big side but he can still ride it. After shopping at 2 different places, this is the one he decided on. He did not have quite enough money for the bike but as part of his present, we paid for the rest. Russell does not buy several little things, he saves up and buys big things.

Here are some pictures of the kids taken after church today. It was hard to get Russell to look at the camera, he was too interested in what was going on elsewhere.
