Swimming Party

 My attempt at a selfie.

We did a pretty good selfie here! Love my girl.

Saturday evening we had a church social at the swimming pool. There is still snow on the ground here and spring is trying to come but I know winter will return again soon. The kids love to play in the water. Chloe is her silly self.

Craft Room Complete

Finally we got counter tops for the craft room. With the kids both spending more time online with their school, we needed another school room. So the craft room will be both. The wall color is called honey dew. There is lots of storage and light. In the bottom picture, the counter top took some time to install because of the angles. It's so nice that's it's done now.

Winter Camping

So the kids had a fantastic idea they want to go winter camping in our yard with their father. So they came up with a list of supplies needed and a plan. Today while Curtis and I were working in the craft room, the kids set up the tents, cut some wood, and prepared the sleeping tent.
The sun was very bright today and the temperature just above freezing. We eat supper by the fire. Russell made popcorn for a snack.

Chloe set up these mounds of snow with branches to keep the moose away. Not sure if it's going to work!

We had some styrofoam insulation which worked good for the tent to sit on for warmth and dryness.
Even Ranger enjoyed the afternoon on his bed. He will be staying inside with me tonight.
I warned them that my bed was off limits during the night if they were cold. I left some lights on so here's hoping they have a good sleep. This is a true Family Day holiday.

Russell's Fine Arts Project

Russell likes to see a high mark on his report card for fine arts. He has taken a liking to cooking and baking. Starting this week he will plan and prepare the meals every Wednesday. He baked this apple cake and made a carob cake Friday. Yummy.
He also decided he'd like to make a blanket. Rag quilts are an easy project to start with. Russell and I went shopping and he made his choice. Once he got the hang of it, he was off. He finished sewing in one day. There were some extra squares so he made a blanket for a little boy at church.

The finished product.
